James B. Carter
James B. Carter is the founder and managing member of Data Risk Management LLC. He is a seasoned information technology professional with a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Purdue University and 31+ years of experience. He has formed and managed four technology companies since 1990.
Under a Professional Investigator license, Mr. Carter has conducted computer forensics investigations since 2008 and has served as an expert witness in Michigan Circuit and Federal Courts. He has also co-authored a book, published in 2013, on the topic of protecting sensitive business data from the insider threat (employee data theft or accidental mishandling) and conducted seminars on the subject for the Michigan State Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Carter’s past responsibilities have included technical consulting, software development (programming), data management, software product design, computer networking, project management, technical support, training, technical writing, corporate management, and sales & marketing. He has developed training material and taught courses in data security, operating systems, systems architecture, computer programming, database management, and computer networking.
